Josh Wilson Concert

On June 7th, we hosted one of the most unique and powerful events we have ever had at Camp Mardela - Contemporary Christian artist Josh Wilson performed a concert at our pavilion! We have about 180 people in attendance - many of which had never been to Camp Mardela. Before the concert, we gave tours of camp & sold Camp Mardela merch. During the concert, Josh Wilson created a space for God to speak through His worshipful music and testimony. Many left feeling uplifted, inspired, and moved.
A HUGE thank you to Bruce and Stacey Layton for “Dreaming Small” and putting a lot of work into making this event possible. Camp Mardela was used in ways we had never thought possible, and are excited about the doors that this will open for future events that can be hosted for the community to enjoy.
Summer Camp

This is the 5th summer that Jennifer Summy has been serving as our Camp Administrator, and we saw a lot of exciting trends with this year’s programs!
~150 total campers at winter & summer camps
Twix (30), Me & You (10), The Wild (20), Youth Trip (5) and Day Camp (20) had record high post-COVID attendance
7 new staff members
36 new campers
There were also a couple of exciting new additions to summer camp programming:
Day trip to Rehoboth Beach for Creative Arts & Youth Camp
Learning Garden for all camps
The Wild campers made rain barrels
Day Campers enjoyed Reptile Wrap-up at Martinak State Park
Our average camper count of 150 has remained consistent since 2023. This is a good average to be hitting consistently, but we are always looking forward towards ways to grow in future years. With these exciting trends, we hope to keep ministering to all of the campers we had this year, and reach even more campers in future years!
Host YOUR Event at Camp!

Camp Mardela is so much more than summer camp programs. All year long we host events, fundraisers, and rental groups. We love sharing our facilities and resources with the community to provide space for people to host their own events at our camp. If YOU would like to rent Camp Mardela to host an event - such as picnics, weekly meetings, family reunions, or even weddings - you can make a rental inquiry at www.campmardela.org/rentals-facilities.
We also want to extend our facilities to be used by our supporting churches, as a thank you for your support and an extension of our church camp ministry. Churches that give over $500 in annual financial support to Camp Mardela can host one day event per year at camp, and churches that give over $2,000 in annual financial support to Camp Mardela can host unlimited church events at camp for NO CHARGE! Just contact camp for open dates to host your church's events.
Camp Store

We have lots of fun Camp Mardela swag that can be purchased online! Order a new hat, tank top, any t-shirts from previous years, stickers, etc. Orders placed online can be picked up at camp or shipped to your address - but extra will need to be paid for shipping.

BVS Bon Voyage Party
August 31 - 2-4pm
After Sunday lunch at Family Camp, join us as we celebrate our BVS volunteer Justine as she heads into her second year of service in Ireland! Help us to thank her for her service this year, and wish her well on her next adventure
Camp Supper Fundraiser
September 20 - 4-7pm
Join us for our most DELICIOUS fundraiser of the year! Enjoy a homemade Ham & Turkey meal with ALL the fixins! You can dine-in or take a meal to go. The minimum donation for a meal is $15.

Summer Fun-Raising Camp-aign!

Our summer camps have been GROWING! This is wonderful news, but as our camps grow, so does our financial need. Our goal was to raise $15,000 for summer camps for scholarships, staff, and program expenses. We’ve raised almost $11,000, but still need $4,000 to reach our goal.
