If you are interested in helping with camp, you will be REQUIRED to attend volunteer training. Whether you are a new counselor or a seasoned director, these trainings are essential for all volunteers to be aware of camp policies, safety procedures, and standard practices.​

If you are unable to make a scheduled training day, please try to attend one of the ZOOM training days. If you cannot attend those days, contact campmardela@gmail.com to arrange a time to go over training materials. ALL staff and volunteers must complete a training quiz to ensure basic understand of camp's safety policies and procedures.

There will be several training opportunities for volunteers as listed below in the training schedule.

VOLUTNEER DEFINITIONS (click HERE for more information)

• Volunteer - someone who helps with summer camp programs and directly interacts with campers for more than 12 cumulative hours of any given camp program. (If you help with camp programs but do not fit this definition, youwill be considered a "resource volunteer" and will have different requirements)

  • New Volunteer - new to supervising children, summer camp programs, or to Camp Mardela-specific programs.

  • Returning Volunteer - has volunteered with Camp Mardela's summer camp programs within the last 5 years.

  • C.I.T - a counselor-in-training between the ages of 14 and 15.
