Family Camp
On Labor Day weekend, we invited Gabe Dodd to this year's Family Camp as our guest speaker. This weekend was full of love as many families came together to participate in camp activities, fellowship, and worship together. We made ice cream & applesauce, went boating and swimming, and celebrated the final days of our BVS volunteer Justine Eckert being here before she travelled to her second year of service in Northern Ireland. It was a wonderful weekend and we were blessed by all who came.
Camp Supper
Despite some light rain, we had a decent turnout for our Camp Supper fundraiser! Numbers were slightly down this year, but we still raised approximately $7,000 for camp - selling about 170 dine-in and 180 carry-out meals. Amy Hutchison and a large amount of volunteers help put on this meal every year, and we are extremely grateful for their help in maintaining this tradition and supporting Camp Mardela with their time and talents. This is one of our favorite (and most delicious!) fundraisers of the year!
Restaurant Fundraisers
In the past few months, we have had 2 restaurant fundraisers - one at Vanderwende's in August and one at Outback Steakhouse in Salisbury. We raised a total of about $650 at both of these fundraisers. Thank you to everyone who came out to support camp at these locations!
Birding Retreat
Doug & Sally Ruby hosted the 3rd annual Birding Retreat over Halloween weekend. We had 12 people attending. They had a wonderful time travelling around the Eastern Shore and spotting unique birds. We do not have another retreat planned for 2026 yet, but check out website for updates!

Host YOUR Event at Camp!

Camp Mardela is so much more than summer camp programs. All year long we host events, fundraisers, and rental groups. We love sharing our facilities and resources with the community to provide space for people to host their own events at our camp. If YOU would like to rent Camp Mardela to host an event - such as picnics, weekly meetings, family reunions, or even weddings - you can make a rental inquiry at www.campmardela.org/rentals-facilities.
We also want to extend our facilities to be used by our supporting churches, as a thank you for your support and an extension of our church camp ministry. Churches that give over $500 in annual financial support to Camp Mardela can host one day event per year at camp, and churches that give over $2,000 in annual financial support to Camp Mardela can host unlimited church events at camp for NO CHARGE! Just contact camp for open dates to host your church's events.

Year-end Giving

We had a wonderful year at Camp Mardela this year. With a full staff, full cabins, and all scheduled camp programs able to run, we saw many people’s lives positively impacted for Christ. We had campers hear the gospel for the first time, volunteers ask deep questions of faith, and staff shared in times of devotion as every moment of camp was saturated with the love of God. This is the culture we have been cultivating and hope to see continue to grow.
But we cannot do any of this without the support of our community. Financial contributions from you have helped us run smooth, safe, and fun camp programs for children and youth on the Eastern Shore. As we celebrate the wonderful year we have had, we are humbly asking for year-end donations to help us finish 2025 strong, and to be able to plan for next year and future years of ministry at Camp Mardela.
Would you be willing to give a significant charitable donation towards Camp Mardela to support our ministry? There are several ways you can give to support camp’s various operations:
General Fund - helps cover general operation expenses
Scholarship Fund - helps pay camp fees for campers who cannot afford full camp tuition
Building Fund - helps fund building, grounds, and camp maintenance projects
Camp Auction - donate physical items to sell or purchase and ad/sponsorship
We are also exploring the possibility of starting an endowment fund. If you would like to donate towards starting this investment in the future of camp, you can also designate funds towards this.
Donations can be made online at www.campmardela.org/donate or they can be mailed to P.O. Box 460, Denton, MD 21629. If you would like your donation to go to a specific fund, please make a note on your donation.
As camp grows and impacts the lives of more people, we want to ensure that Camp Mardela not only survives, but thrives, and contributing towards this fundraising campaign will help us do just
that. Thank you for your consideration in supporting Camp Mardela.
